Ordinarily, I don't much care for instrumental metal. I have nothing against it, but I find the absence of vocals tends to make the music uninteresting for some reason. This album is a rare exception to that.

Bright, mechanical hypnotic pounding that really gets me. Lots of layers, lots of interesting repeating rhythmic tentacles, lots of subtle effects, lots of post-rock emotional wave, lots of "wow-that-lil-thing-was-cool" moments. To poorly describe in one sentence this is krautrock blended with prog metal execution. And my god that last song is good!
